Flagstone Reinsurance, a Bermuda-based reinsurance and insurance company, has appointed Richard Housley as new underwriting director of Flagstone Syndicate Management Limited (FSML), managers of Syndicate 1861 at Lloyd's, effective from 1 February.
In his new role, Housley will oversee the underwriting operations at FSML. Les Allen will continue as active underwriter.
Housley will join FSML with 25 years if experience in the industry. Since December 2009, he has worked on a number of new Lloyd’s ventures. Previously, he was CEO of the specialty lines division at Axis, having joined the company in 2002.
Flagstone CEO David Brown said Richard’s appointment reflects the importance place on Lloyd’s activities and the commitment to investing in and developing this area of our business.
The appointment is subjective to approval.
