First American Title Insurance Company has appointed Kurt Pfotenhauer as executive vice president and vice chairman.

In his new role, Pfotenhauer will maintain executive-level relationships with the nation’s largest money center banks and assist with political and legislative relations for the corporation and split his time between Santa Ana, California and Washington DC.

He will join the firm with over 26 years of political and financial services industry experience, most recently he was CEO of the American Land Title Association (ALTA).

He also worked with title industry’s most senior contacts within the White House, US Senate and US House of Representatives.

Before joining ALTA, Pfotenhauer served as senior vice president of government affairs for the Mortgage Bankers Association.

First American Title Insurance is a subsidiary of First American Financial that offers title services through its direct operations and a network of agents throughout the US and abroad.
