FBL Financial has appointed James (Jim) Brannen to the position of chief executive officer, after serving as interim chief executive officer for two months at the company.

The current vice president of finance Donald (Don) Seibel has been promoted to chief financial officer and treasurer and both executives assume their role immideately.

FBL Financial chairman of the board Craig Hill said Brannen brings extensive experience and a deep commitment to the Farm Bureau niche marketplace and its multiline exclusive agents.

"The board is confident that we have chosen the right strategic leader as Jim is ideally suited to lead FBL Financial Group," Hill added.

Prior to assuming the latest position, Brannen worked as chief financial officer, chief administrative officer and treasurer since 2007.

He has been working with the underwriter for almost 20 years and spearheaded finance and executive management deapartmetns.

FBL Financial is a holding company, primary operating through its subsidiary, Farm Bureau Life Insurance, which underwrites and markets a wide range of life insurance and annuities to individuals and businesses.
