The expansion will create a significant number of new jobs in Michigan

Farmers Insurance (Farmers) has revealed its plan to build two new buildings totaling 275,000 square feet on the existing facilities located in Caledonia, which is expected to begin this fall.

Farmers said that this development is thanks, in part, to an attractive incentives package offered by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). The expansion will create a significant number of new jobs in Michigan.

Robert Woudstra, CEO, Farmers, said: “I am proud to announce that the expansion of Farmers’ facilities will bring up to 1,600 jobs to the state. We will break ground this fall on a 175,000 square foot office building, and a 100,000 square foot print and distribution center.”

Farmers Group is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zurich Financial Services, an insurance-based financial services provider, with offices located in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.
