Pennsylvania-based Erie Insurance has made new appointments and promotions in a bid to strengthen its leadership team.

Andrew Erman has been appointed as vice president and chief life actuary and will be responsible for managing actuarial activities for the company’s Life and Annuity lines.

William Herr has been appointed as vice president of Corporate Actuarial for which he will be responsible for property/casualty lines reserving and dynamic financial analysis.

Erie has appointed Shasta Roca as vice president of Vendor Management, for which Roca will be responsible for sourcing, vendor development, vendor negotiations and procurement.

The company has named Dave Bednar to Executive Office Liaison, where he will develop and implement corporate strategies and serve as a liaison between executive management and senior leaders.

Prior to this current role, Bednar was the director of strategic initiatives with Erie Family Life.

Mark Hammerstein has been named as vice president of the company’s Agent Experience where Hammerstein will manage efforts to sustain and continuously enhance the ERIE agent experience.

Ahead of the current role, he held the position of Branch Manager in Canton, Ohio.

Erie has named Bill Matrogran as vice president of Claims Training where Matrogran will focus on continuing to enhance the Claims organization’s technical skills and improving development opportunities.

Robert McNutt has been named as vice president and treasurer of the company where he is responsible for cash management, treasury systems and investor relations.

The company has named Jim Vrooman as vice president of Crisis Prevention and Management, where Vrooman will lead ERIE’s business continuity, disaster recovery and facility security groups.

Prior to the current role, he was the director of crisis management.

Eris has named Dennis Witkowski as vice president of Digital Marketing, where he will oversee the company’s online media efforts which include generation of new business leads for agents.
