Software and services provider to property insurers, Enservio’s first co-party activation debit card for insurance claims payments has received Patent 8,346,665 award from the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Enservio CEO Jon McNeill said, "This product was built from the ground up with the specific needs of the insurance industry in mind to replicate co-party check behavior and to accommodate escheatment processes."

The patented electronic settlement system with co-party functionality provides immediate access to funds including swipe and PIN purchases as well as funds transfer and cash access for policyholders.

Additional benefits include acceptance at millions of merchants; addressing insureds who may not have bank accounts and subsequently cannot use checks; and ease of delivering reloadable supplements or release of holdback.

Capable of integrating with existing claims payment systems, the co-party debit card provides comprehensive reporting and analytics as well as reduced processing costs and retention benefits, including optional carrier branding for the card and associated web sites.

Over $100m in claims have utilized the card to date for auto, personal property, dwelling and liability payments.
