Massachusetts based Software as a Service (SaaS) provider Enservio has appointed Chris Schoettle as president and chief operating officer (COO).

In this new role, Schoettle will be responsible for sales, service operations, engineering, product management and product marketing.

Prior to joining Enservio, Schoettle has been an executive vice president for a decade at Akamai, where he escorted the cloud-based products and services, the global technology platform, company operations, and multiple acquisitions/integrations.

Enservio CEO Jon McNeill said Chris adds depth and strength to the company’s senior management team and will help it continue to scale its products and services for their rapidly growing base of insurance carrier customers.

"Chris joined Akamai at just over $160M in sales and played key roles in helping to scale the company beyond $1B in sales," McNeill added.

Schoettle also served general management positions at AT&T, Novell, and Unix System Laboratories, as well as expatriate roles in Europe and Asia Pacific.

Chris Schoettle said that he was excited to be joining Enservio.

"I’m looking forwarded to working closely with Jon McNeill and the impressive senior management team as we build and expand on Enservio’s strong growth momentum," Schoettle said.

The appointment follows the company’s acquisition of Insurer’s World and posting a 40% year-over-year revenue growth in 2011.
