Require companies to address the characteristics of workers' compensation utilisation management

Employers Occupational Health, a subsidiary of Employers Holdings, has been awarded Workers’ Compensation Utilisation Management Accreditation from URAC.

URAC’s Workers’ Compensation Utilisation Management standards require companies to address the characteristics of workers’ compensation utilisation management and ensure oversight for this area of managed care.

Mary Lushina, senior vice president of Employers Occupational Health, said: Employers Occupational Health is honoured to receive Workers’ Compensation Utilisation Management Accreditation from URAC. We are very pleased to be recognised in the industry for providing outstanding services. This distinction also underscores the quality of our work with customers, patients, clients, payors and providers by demonstrating compliance with national standards for workers’ compensation utilisation management services.

URAC’s Workers’ Compensation Utilisation Management Accreditation standards address approaches to ensuring appropriate patient protections which have been established, such as policies for confidentiality of patient information, informed consent, dispute resolution and other issues.

The standards cover staff structure and qualifications, quality improvement, information management, oversight of delegated functions, ethics, complaints, and the workers’ compensation utilization management process.
