Canada-based The Empire Life Insurance Company (Empire Life) has introduced a new electronic claims (eClaims) service to simplify claims submission process for its group insurance customers.

Using the new eClaims service, plan members will be able to submit healthcare claims online and get reimbursement within 24 hours.

Empire Life Group Solutions senior vice-president Steve Pong said the new service will offer choice, convenience and control to group customers to focus on their business.

”This service will reduce paperwork and free up time for business owners, helping them to do just that,” Pong added.

Empire Life Group Marketing vice-president Janet Jackson said the solution will save customers time required for answering questions and managing paper claim forms.

The solution’s features include real-time adjudication, coordination of benefits capability, as well as flexibility for employers to select from different levels of robust audit controls according to their risk tolerance and benefits philosophy.

In addition, smart screens will help group customers’ employees during selection by providing them with questions only relevant to their claim.

Although the employees are required to keep the receipts for one year, but they need not be submitted unless requested.
