eHealth, a provider of online health insurance services, has appointed Scott Flanders as an independent director. Mr Flanders also will serve on the compensation committee of the board.

Mr Flanders currently serves as the president, CEO and member of the board of directors of Freedom Communications. Previously, he was the chairman and CEO of Columbia House. In 1998, Mr Flanders co-founded Telstreet.com. He remained chairman of Telstreet until the company merged with Buy.com in August 2000.
