Ebix, a supplier of on-demand software and e-commerce services to insurance industry, has signed an agreement with Hygeia HMO in Nigeria, to implement its managed healthcare information administration system.

Under the agreement, Ebix will provide the entire back office managed healthcare information administration system for Hygeia. The Ebix system will enable Hygeia to automate their operations and also provides connectivity with NHIS for both regulatory and automation purposes.

Ebix will also provide systems to help Hygeia in its efforts to provide an integrated delivery healthcare system which emphasizes delivery of primary, secondary and tertiary health care services all under one umbrella.

Hygeia HMO is a provider of health insurance across the Republic of Nigeria. The HMO has a network encompassing hospitals and clinics that are contracted to work with it. It also operates Lagoon Hospitals in various cities including Apapa, Ikeja and Victoria Island, Lagos.
