Doodson Broking Group, a UK based entertainment insurance specialist, has acquired Dallas-based CSI Entertainment Insurance.

The merger of the companies is expected to create the world’s largest insurance broker for music and special events, with coverage placed by the combined entity extending to more than 10,000 concerts, 600 music festivals and 300 touring artists.

Doodson Broking group managing director Neil Clayton said the acquisition of CSI is an excellent opportunity for the group to continue its global growth within the entertainment sector.

"CSI has tremendous reputation within the sector and will help the group continue to deliver excellent products and services to our clients," Clayton said.

Established in 2001, CSI will be integrated into Doodson Insurance Brokerage, the US arm of Doodson Broking Group.

CSI’s founder and chief executive James Chippendale has been named as president of the Doodson Broking Group.

Doodson Insurance Brokerage will continue to be led by chief executive Roger Sandau, who has more than a decade of professional experience advising music and entertainment clients in the management of financial risk and the creation of tailored insurance solutions.

Doodson Insurance Brokerage currently maintains offices in Baltimore, Dallas and Los Angeles, in addition to the Doodson Broking Group locations in the UK in London, Manchester and Blackburn.
