DLA Piper has said that Michael Murphy and Aidan McCormack have joined as partners in its litigation practice group in New York and will focus on insurance, reinsurance, and financial services-related litigation, arbitration and counseling, as well as complex transactions. They will be joined by at least six other attorneys from Nixon Peabody.

Mr Murphy is the former chair of Nixon Peabody’s Insurance and Reinsurance practice, the co-chair of the firm’s international practice, the co-head of Nixon Peabody’s global strategies Initiative, and a member Nixon Peabody’s Policy Committee, its governing organization.

Mr Murphy advises insurers, reinsurers and financial service institutions in major disputes throughout North America, South America (in particular Brazil), the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, Asia and Bermuda.

Mr McCormack is formerly the practice group leader of the Nixon Peabody insurance and reinsurance practice group. He advises insurers and reinsurers in disputes throughout North America, South America, the UK, Europe, Australia, Asia and Bermuda.
