US’s employee benefits-only agency Digital Insurance has collaborated with CUNA Mutual Group, to prepare customers to address changes in health care reform and to modify their employee benefits packages accordingly.

As part of the alliance, Digital Benefit Advisors (DBA) will provide expanded resources, improved client services and expertise to help credit unions navigate the intricacies of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and employee benefits strategy.

DBA will offer access to an array of dynamic tools, specialized products and facility to efficiently navigate through the complexities of health care reform, according to Digital Insurance.

CUNA Mutual Group employee benefits senior manager Brad Pricer explained that health care reform was changing the way businesses offer and fund employee health plans.

"Regardless of whether a credit union opts to offer employee health insurance going forward, it will need to ensure it is compliant with the new law," Pricer added.

In order to ensure smooth functioning, David Martin has been appointed as managing principal of the company’s credit union services.

Before joining Digital, Martin was an employee benefits practice leader for CUNA Mutual Group, independent consultant with My Benefit Experience Inc.

He has also served as vice president and employee benefits practice leader with HUB International, and vice president of sales and operations/co-founder at Westbrook Financial Services.
