International diversified financial services provider Dexia will now run its Belgian insurance workshop office off solar power following the successful instillation of over 300 photovoltaic panels on the roof its facility in Meise.

The new energy harnessing system is the largest solar energy production installation in Belgium. It comprises 330 photovoltaic panels which are now operational on the roof of the workshop. They develop 42,800 kilowatt hours a year. The panels therefore produce green current sufficient for the electricity needs of the building.

The installation is connected to the Belgian electricity network, and any production surplus to needs will be automatically sent to it. If production is insufficient, the opposite occurs.
