CSC has extended its business process outsourcing (BPO) services agreement for six-years with Sunshine State Insurance Company to support its personal and commercial property business.

Under the agreement, CSC will provide an enhanced technology platform that automates underwriting process enabling agents to conduct business with Sunshine State.

The company said that the processing services that has contributed to insurer’s growth from a start-up in 2000 to managing around $110m in direct written premium in 2009, will continue to support Sunshine State’s underwriting, rating, policy issuance and administration, agency point of sale automation, customer service, print and imaging, financial accounting and reporting to bureaus and industry databases.

CSC said that it currently administers Sunshine State’s property business in Florida and South Carolina on the new versions of its POINT IN policy administration system and Agency Link, a software automating the front end.

According to CSC, through the contract extension, both the companies are expanding technology and services for enhanced risk management and selection, business analytics and advanced web 2.0 capabilities.

In addition, the contract also enables agents to enter data, obtain quotes, underwrite and issue policies online and also conduct other functions throughout the policy lifecycle.

John Rogan, president and CEO of Sunshine State, said: “The Agency Link functionality has already been released to our first group of agents, and the response has been phenomenal. Many of them attribute their success to how quickly they can provide answers to their customers.

“CSC’s BPO services have also enabled Sunshine State to employ a virtual insurer model with a focus on delivering exceptional service.”
