Crawford & Company, an independent provider of claims management solutions, has named Christopher Pinney as the new head of legal for its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific regions.

Mr Pinney will support the company’s executive management in those regions and liaise with the its Atlanta-based legal department on corporate-wide issues. He will report to Allen Nelson, general counsel and chief administrative officer of Crawford, and will be based in London.

Mr Pinney had trained at Gouldens English Solicitors and joins Crawford from Jones Day where, as a corporate solicitor, he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and private equity transactions, and also general commercial law. He is the author of a Jones Day Commentary published in 2005 and was involved in various internal mentoring activities while with the firm.

Mr Nelson, said: “As our international operations continue to grow, having someone on our legal team with Chris’s background and experience in the United Kingdom and elsewhere will be invaluable.”
