Crawford & Company has promoted Mauricio Alonso as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the company's Latin American and Caribbean operations.

Since March 2005, Alonso was acting as a senior vice president and regional managing director of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Property & Casualty – Americas chief executive officer Kevin Frawley said that under Mauricio’s guidance, Crawford’s operations throughout the regions have grown significantly in recent years.

"This promotion recognizes the success of those efforts and our positive expectations for the future under his continued leadership," Frawley added.

Alonso had held various positions that include serving as a vice president of the Latin America Claims Division for AIG and worked as claims manager, AIG Mexico; claims manager, AIG Brazil; regional director, AIG Mexico; and regional claims supervisor for Geico.

According to the risk manager, under leadership of Alonso, Crawford has developed a single, integrated IT platform, installed new country management and increased its Global Technical Services (GTS(SM)) presence in Latin America.

Crawford & Company offers claims management solutions to the risk management and insurance industry as well as self-insured entities.
