California-based national insurance distribution company Confie Seguros has purchased CW Baker Insurance Agency and Lewiston Insurance Agency, in a bid to boost standard and preferred personal lines and small commercial distribution network in the region.

The acquisition of the two agencies is part of its strategy to boost its geographic footprint across New York.

Both the acquired firms focus on providing personal insurance policies and commercial insurance products for small to medium size businesses.

Established in 1928, CW Baker Insurance Agency in Lockport operates as independent agency offering personal and commercial lines insurance, while Lewiston Insurance Agency specializes in property and casualty insurance for personal and business accounts.

Timothy Smith of CW Baker and Margaret Toohey of Lewiston will continue working with their respective companies to assist in operations.

Set up in 2008, Confie Seguros trades as a national provider of personal lines insurance and manages 300 retail offices across the US. It has annual revenue of over $200m.
