CNA has appointed John Geary as the new vice president of its Inland Marine operation. He will be responsible for the company's entire inland marine line of business, including setting strategy, underwriting, pricing and product design for its monoline and package products.

According to CNA, Mr Geary joins the company from Travelers Insurance, where he served as the vice president of underwriting/inland, and was responsible for three regional inland marine operations within the Midwest.

The company said that Mr Geary has around 24 years of marine underwriting experience, including serving as the national inland marine director for The St Paul Companies and executive marine director for Kemper Insurance Companies.
