CNA Financial has appointed five commercial underwriting officers to add local underwriting leadership and technical underwriting capabilities to the business insurer’s branch offices in order to provide a nimble response to requests from its agents.

According to CNA, the commercial underwriting officers who are expected to begin their new roles by March 8, 2010, are Nancy Fallgren, Eva Gonzales, Bruce Hay, Frank Jevitz, and Tony O’Sullivan.

Most recently, Ms Fallgren served as underwriting director in Seattle; Ms Gonzales joined CNA from Crum & Forster, where she served as assistant vice president of its Package Division; Mr Hay has served as assistant vice president of CNA’s middle market general industries; most recently, Mr Jevitz served as middle market leader and underwriting director; and Mr O’Sullivan served as underwriting director for CNA’s Columbus office.

Tim Szerlong, president of worldwide field operations at can, said: “One of the most important goals of the new field structure we announced last year is strengthening relationships with our producers. Our new commercial underwriting officers will work with branch vice presidents and business development leaders to best present the full complement of CNA’s products and services to every account.”
