Co-operative Insurance Society (CIS) has announced that it has signed an agreement with Norwich Union (NU), the UK's second largest insurer, to boost the number of NU products it distributes. CIS says the move will strengthen the distribution capabilities of both parties significantly.

The proposed partnership will see NU supply four additional products to CIS’s existing product range, three of which will be distributed via CIS’s 2,200 financial advisers and one to be marketed directly to CFS’s seven million-strong customer base.

CIS believes the move will provide customers with a broader range of products, one which already includes banking, general insurance and CIS life and savings products.

David Anderson, CFS Chief Executive said, Norwich Union is rightly regarded as a quality and leading product provider, who combined with the strength of our existing product range and sales force channel, will help deliver a truly compelling proposition for our customers.
