Health insurance company Cigna has reported net income of $263 million, or $0.93 per share for the fourth quarter of 2007, compared to $232 million, or $0.76 per share for the fourth quarter of 2006.

The company’s adjusted income from operations was $277 million, or $0.98 per share for the fourth quarter of 2007, compared to $266 million, or $0.87 per share for the fourth quarter of 2006.

For the full-year period of 2007, net income was $1.12 billion, or $3.87 per share, compared to $1.16 billion, or $3.43 per share for the full-year period of 2006. Adjusted income from operations was $1.14 billion, or $3.96 per share for the full-year period of 2007, compared to $1.06 billion, or $3.15 per share for the full-year period of 2006.
