Chaucer Holdings, a UK-based diversified insurance group, has extended its global operations by opening a new office in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to access facultative property and related risks in Latin America on behalf of Chaucer Syndicate 1084.

Uwe Fischer will be the general manager of the new office, and he will be joined by Alejandro Ferrin and Guido Wolman, all formally from Glacier Re. The team will build on existing client relationships to develop the portfolio throughout Latin American.

According to the Chaucer, the Latin America office intends to service business from October 1, 2010.
