Chartis, a provider of property-casualty and general insurance, has appointed Gretchen Hayes as chief diversity officer, who will be responsible for diversity initiatives including talent acquisition, retention and development, community outreach, supplier diversity, distribution channels, and product development.

Ms Hayes was most recently appointed as executive vice president of Chartis International’s corporate accounts practice division. She has held senior positions in both the US and International businesses, including serving as president of the Strategic Relationship Group, president of the eBusiness risk solutions unit, and senior vice president of Global Trade and Political Risk Insurance.
