Chartis, a property-casualty and general insurance organization, has appointed Mark Meyerhoff as new president of Chartis Aerospace Insurance Services, effective 24 January 2011.

In his new role, Meyerhoff will be responsible for leading Chartis’ aerospace businesses worldwide, replacing David Hupp, who will retire from Chartis after 40 years of service with the company.

Meyerhoff brings Chartis over 30 years of experience within the aviation and aerospace industry. He will join Chartis from Boeing, where he was most recently the senior director of risk management and insurance.

In that capacity, Meyerhoff was responsible for all business insurance programs and related processes for Boeing, including the company’s aviation products liability, property, and directors and officers liability, in addition to 50 other programs.

Chartis executive vice president and president and CEO of Chartis US John Doyle said that Meyerhoff is an accomplished senior aerospace executive with extensive expertise in a number of areas within the insurance industry.

"We are very pleased to have a professional of his caliber join Chartis to continue to help build our Aerospace business," Doyle said.
