Capital BlueCross, a provider of health insurance products to individuals and employer groups, has been selected as one of the region's health insurers to provide health care coverage through the adultbasic program in Pennsylvania.

According to Capital BlueCross, adultBasic, administered by the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, provides low-cost health care coverage to Pennsylvania residents ages 19 through 64 who meet specific eligibility and income requirements.

Benefits include preventive services, such as immunizations and routine check-ups provided in a primary care physician’s office, specialist office visits, emergency room visits and inpatientoutpatient services.

Barbara Dubs, senior director, CHIP and adultBasic at Capital BlueCross, said: This is a very popular program with limited funding, so it is vitally important for those who are uninsured and eligible to apply and get on the waiting list for coverage.
