Insurance intermediary Brown & Brown Inc has appointed Nick Dereszynski as new regional vice president, reporting to Scott Penny, regional president and chief acquisitions officer.

Dereszynski will relocate from Syracuse, New York, where he has served as profit center leader for the past six years and has overseen certain other retail offices in the State of New York, to Seattle, Washington, where he will assume responsibility for the oversight of all Brown & Brown retail operations in the State of Washington.

Dereszynski joined Brown & Brown in 1993 in the Fort Myers, Florida office, as a property and casualty/employee benefits producer and was elevated to the position of benefits team leader before his promotion to the position of profit center leader in Naples, Florida in 1998, and his subsequent move to lead the Sarasota, Florida retail office from 2002 to 2005.

In 2005, he assumed the responsibility for the Syracuse, New York retail office, where he serves as president of Brown & Brown Empire State, a division of Brown & Brown of New York.
