Insurance firm Brown & Brown has acquired certain assets of Connecticut-based employee benefits brokerage firm Corporate Benefit Consultants (CBC).

With combined annualized revenues of $3m, CBC provides specialty employee benefits brokerage and consulting services for public and private sector clients in Connecticut, Florida, and across the northeastern US.

Sonia Kaminsky, Joseph Fields, the founders of the CBC, and its staff will join Brown & Brown of Connecticut’s offices, under the leadership of Donald McGowan.

Scott Penny, regional president & chief acquisitions officer of Brown & Brown said Sonia and Joseph bring extensive expertise and experience in designing, negotiating and implementing employee benefit plans.

Kaminsky said this acquisition provides the company with a wide range of new products and services to help its customers manage their health care costs in this challenging economic environment.

Brown & Brown offers a range of insurance and reinsurance products and related services as well as various risk management, third-party administration, and other services.
