Beazley Furlonge, the Lloyd's managing agency, has appointed Bob Deutsch as a non executive director.

UK’s Financial Services Authority has approved the appointment.

According to the board, Deutsch is a partner at GCP Capital Partners, where he focuses on insurance-related investments.

Most recently, Deutsch served as a CEO of the Bermuda-based specialty insurer, Ironshore.

Prior to Beazley, Deutsch served for five years as chief financial officer at CNA Financial Corporation.

Deutsch also served as CFO and chief actuary, as well as president of the two operating companies at Executive Risk, that was acquired by The Chubb Corporation in 1999.

Deutsch is replacing Chris London, who served the Beazley Furlonge board for three and a half years as a non executive director in the area of broker relations.

Beazley, is the parent company of specialist insurance businesses with branches in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia and manages five Lloyd’s syndicates. In 2010, Beazley underwrote gross premiums worldwide of $1,741.6m.
