Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ), a provider of health insurance products, has promoted Jeff Stelnik to senior vice president, strategy and analytics. He will also continue to maintain the responsibilities of chief actuary.
In his new role, Stelnik will serve as a leader in the areas of long-term corporate strategies and advanced analytics.
He will also act as a strategic resource and as a collaborative visionary who oversees the actuarial, underwriting, informatics and strategic planning functions.
Since April 2009, Stelnik has been an essential senior executive, providing his strategic vision and expertise with many facets of the company.
Among other projects, Stelnik has worked extensively with BCBSAZ’s government relations and public relations teams to educate internal and external stakeholders about the impact of health care reform on Arizonans.
Stelnik has also served as the company’s lead executive on the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Strategy Collaborative, working to drive business strategies for the ‘Blues’ at a national level and developing strategies to ensure the company’s continued growth.
