The British Insurance Brokers' Association has launched a self-service portal to give its member access to and control over their membership details online. Furthermore, the launch will also help to encourage new business leads from the association's consumer helpline and Find a Broker website.

The new portal is part of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association’s (BIBA) long-term plan to develop its consumer referral system into a leading website search facility for consumers seeking insurance brokers.

Benefits of the system include the ability for members to ensure that their contact details are up to date so that they can take full advantage of BIBA’s other benefits, such as monthly newsletters and a directory of members. Members can also automatically control the referrals that they receive from BIBA’s consumer helpline and website by updating the portal as frequently as required.

In addition, BIBA will be using the portal to increase the amount of data held on members and, within the next 12 months, will redesign the Find a Broker service to create more new business leads for members.
