Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has launched a new professional liability offering for US architects and engineers (A&E).

With limits up to $25m, the coverage will be underwritten on an admitted or non-admitted basis.

Professional First Architects & Engineers Professional Liability Insurance's cyber coverage addresses media, technology and network security and privacy liability exposures,

It will also offer the cost of responding to a data breach or network extortion threat.

BHSI said that its network of experts will enable customers to respond to a data breach or extortion threat and offer risk management services such as contract reviews, newsletters and best practices webinars.

The Professional First suite of products also includes asset management liability insurance, insurance company professional liability insurance, network security and prrivacy liability insurance, bankers professional liability insurance and miscellaneous professional liability insurance.

BHSI A&E professional liability head and vice president Joe Schrancz said: “Our new Professional First A&E Professional Liability policy responds to a variety of exposures facing the design community, including cyber and LEED certification exposures, and it rewards our customers for strong risk management practices.”
