Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance has appointed Dan Fortin as senior vice president of executive and professional lines business.
Fortin, who worked as senior vice president of CNA Specialty earlier, was responsible for management and professional liability globally at CNA Specialty for nearly 10 years.
He also served as interim CEO of CNA Europe in 2009.
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance executive vice president of casualty, healthcare, executive and professional lines David Bresnahan said, "Dan has a stellar reputation in the industry and a proven record of spearheading quality, profitable insurance businesses."
"We are fortunate to be able to bring his innovative-thinking and leadership to our executive and professional lines team," added Bresnahan.
Fortin was associated with Aon Financial Services Group as managing director and prior to this, he held various underwriting management positions at CNA Insurance Companies.
