The Belgian government has reportedly repeated its aim to establish itself as a cross-border European pension domicile.

The trade journal Investments and Pensions Europe has reported comments by the country’s pensions minister Marc Verwilghen telling a pensions conference that Belgium is making progress in its efforts to introduce the requisite legislation into Belgian national law.

The report cites the Belgian Association of Pension Funds as saying that the move is intended to put the country in a ‘favorable position’ to provide a base for many cross-border pension schemes.
