Beazley Group has expanded its range of environmental products by launching Eclipse, a user-friendly environmental liability and cleanup costs insurance product, to help clients control both known and unknown pollution risks.

Beazley said that Eclipse provides coverage to mitigate loss resulting from claims for bodily injury, property damage, cleanup and the destruction of natural resources due to contamination on, at, under or migrating from a covered location.

In addition to standard coverage provisions, Beazley Eclipse also covers transportation pollution liability for waste, materials, goods and products, both inbound and outbound, to and from the insured’s premises.

It will also cover the non-owned disposal site pollution liability (blanket locations, both onsite and offsite coverage) and reputation management reimbursement up to 50% of $100,000 to assist clients in managing their reputational risk after a loss.

Beazley’s environmental team head John Beauchamp said that Eclipse was designed carefully to provide state of the art coverage. But for brokers and clients most important differentiator is in the experience and skill of underwriters, enabling them to tailor coverage to meet clients’ precise needs.

Beazley’s environmental team with four underwriters include John Beauchamp, Jim Wilkins, Jayne Cunningham and Nicholas Pearson – located in the company’s New York, Philadelphia and Atlanta office.

However, at the end of the year, Pearson will be relocating to London to underwrite environmental risks out of Lloyd’s.

In addition to Beazley Eclipse, the team underwrites Beazley Enviro, a policy covering professional and environmental risk for the environmental services industry; and a broader package policy, BeazleyOne Enviro, that includes general, professional and environmental liability coverage.
