Insurance brokerage firm Barney & Barney has launched a new compensation consulting practice, which it claims to offer clients a specialized level of expertise in the areas of executive compensation, sales effectiveness consulting and broad-based rewards advisory services.

The practice will be led by Jeremy Anderson, who joined the firm as a principal. He worked for compensation consulting firms, helping companies to design and implement executive compensation programs, sales incentive plans, equity strategies and performance management systems.

Shawn Pynes, principal of employee benefits division at Barney & Barney, said: Barney & Barney continues to grow at an aggressive rate – even in this tough economy and the addition of the Compensation Consulting practice is an integral part of our growth strategy.

In the near future, the integration of compensation and benefits strategies and the link between audit and compensation committees will drive significant changes in the way companies reward their employees. This practice will give Barney & Barney the ability to strengthen the connection between these currently disparate areas of focus, and it will help our clients gain a competitive advantage in a rapidly changing marketplace.
