AXA Insurance has appointed Jean Drouffe as its finance director. Mr Drouffe is responsible for managing the finance and risk across AXA Insurance and providing governance structure that supports AXA Insurance's business priorities.

Mr Drouffe’s appointment follows the reorganization of the business by chief executive, Philippe Rivet. As part of his new role, Mr Drouffe has put in place a new structure introducing finance business partners to provide finance support to each of the company’s four strategic business units, helping them focus on profitability and working closely with them in shaping innovative business solutions for the future.

Before joining AXA in 2000, he worked for Arthur Andersen as a Pension Actuary. He joined AXA UK in 2004 as head of financial risk management.

Mr Drouffe said: I very much believe the finance function should be at the heart of any organization and can add significant value to the business-facing teams. In particular, we should be involved in shaping the business decisions and finding the right solutions to ensure we manage risk, whilst improving our profitability and safeguarding our customer’s experience.
