AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company has appointed Dave Hattem as general counsel; Anthony Recine as deputy general counsel; and Carol Macaluso as senior vice president.

Mr Hattem is a senior vice president and now has management responsibility for the law department. He joined in 1994 and served as deputy general counsel since 2004. He had a variety of management roles including head of the litigation, employment and customer relations practice group, and most recently served as a co-manager of the corporate, investment and benefits practice group. He will report to Richard Silver, senior executive vice president, chief administrative officer and chief legal officer.

Mr Recine is a senior vice president and chief compliance officer. He is responsible for managing national compliance office, which monitors the activities and compliance infrastructure of the company’s broker-dealers, registered investment advisors and registered representatives. He now assumes responsibility for overseeing the administration of the law department. Mr Recine will report to Mr Hattem.

Ms Macaluso is responsible for overseeing the insurance accounting functions that support life and annuity products; the financial information management function that is responsible for the general ledger and related financial information systems; companywide disbursement operations; HR accounting; and sarbanes-oxley compliance. She will report to Al Fenichel, senior vice president and chief accounting officer.
