To manage and coordinate AXA’s investment and asset-liability management strategy

AXA, a global provider of financial services firm, has appointed Jean Sorasio as group chief investment officer. His appointment is effective from January, 2010.

In his role, Mr Sorasio will manage and coordinate AXA’s investment and asset-liability management strategy in order to optimize investment performance, within the risk appetite defined by the group. He will report to Gerald Harlin, AXA’s CFO and a member of the group executive committee.

Jean Sorasio joined the AXA Group in 2007 as chief investment officer of AXA Life Japan. He had previously held several management positions in capital markets with Banque Indosuez, as well as with the EBRD, where he acted as head of asset and liability management and then director of treasury risk management.
