Avizent, a provider of national claims and risk management, has appointed Tom Watson as the new CEO. Mr. Watson will oversee the company’s national property and casualty third party administrator (TPA) services, including Avizent’s full-service managed care company, occupational PPO networks, and alternative risk division.
Prior to this, Mr. Watson had served as the company’s CFO, where he was responsible for directing financial functions and supporting the company’s strategic direction.

Most recently, he served as president and COO at UnitedHealthcare Benefit Services, a UnitedHealth Group TPA based in Brookfield. Prior to that, he was CFO of OptumHealth Financial Services, another UnitedHealth Group business unit. He also served at senior financial positions in CIGNA’s operating companies, including Division Controller of CIGNA Health Services.
