Aviva has extended coverage of its Group Personal Accident (GPA), sickness and business travel policy.

The insurer said the revamped product ‘People and Places’ offers a number of new extensions including closure of airspace, kidnap and ransom cover, nuclear, chemical and biological cover and war cover outside your country of domicile.

Other extensions added by Aviva as part of the new product include cover for rehabilitation expenses, search and rescue and evacuation from life threatening situations.

Aviva underwriting manager – speciality lines Lisa Wild said that the cover will be beneficial to businesses with more than five employees and bespoke solutions are also available for more complex cases.

"All of our GPA, Sickness and Business Travel customers will continue to benefit from a dedicated team of claims experts, who are based in the UK and offer a guaranteed two-day response to all new claims," Wild said.

Aviva’s GPA, sickness and business travel cover is available as part of its commercial combined product set as well as a standalone policy.
