American Safety Insurance (ASI) has announced a team of underwriters in a bid to establish an office in downtown Chicago, Illinois, US.
The new team includes Roger Kolb II, Michael Troike, Brian Timmel, Anthony Fick, and Samantha Kollmorgen.
Roger Kolb and Michael Troike will serve as assistant vice president for Primary Casualty and focus on geographic diversification in the Midwestern US.
With more than 32 years of experience in the excess & surplus lines business, Roger also served at Argo Group, Arch Insurance Group and other insurance companies, prior to ASI.
Troike has more than 19 years of construction and products liability underwriting experience at Argo Group, Zurich North America and other insurance companies.
Other members in the team namely Brian Timmel and Anthony Fick have been appointed as assistant vice president for Excess Casualty.
Prior to ASI, Brian worked at Argo Group, General Reinsurance and Cincinnati Financial and has 16 years experience in the E&S market while Fick has more than 15 years of casualty underwriter experience serving at Colony Specialty Insurance, Allied World Assurance, Benfield and other insurance companies.
Samantha Kollmorgen, named as senior underwriting assistant, has eight years of the E&S marketplace experience and also served Colony Specialty and HUB International earlier.
Commenting on the new team and the new office, US Operations senior vice president Ambuj Jain said the firm will now focus to grow organically and to leverage its broad E&S product platform.
