Illinois-based insurance brokerage firm Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired Transwestern General Agency (TGA), a Utah-based managing general agent and wholesale insurance broker.
TGA, founded in 1945, provides property/casualty, professional business liability and other specialty insurance products and services to their independent insurance agent and broker clients primarily in the Intermountain Western US specializing in insurance coverage for high net worth individuals and the transportation industry.
As part of the acquisition, Jeffrey Burgener and his associates will continue to operate from their current location under the direction of Joel Cavaness, president of Risk Placement Services, a subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
Arthur J. Gallagher chairman, president and CEO Patrick Gallagher said that TGA’s wealth of specialty products and service capabilities and western intermountain presence will be a terrific addition to Risk Placement Services’ expanding wholesale network.
