US-based insurance brokerage and risk management services firm Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (AJG) has acquired UK's Evolution Underwriting Group.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Under the leadership of Gallagher’s UK MGA operations head Mark Armitage, Evolution’s Paul Upton and his team will continue to operate from the Kent location.

Founded in 2004, Evolution offers commercial insurance products and services for small-to-middle-market sector, as well as to independent retail broker clients.

With operations in around 30 countries, AJG provides client-service capabilities in about 140 countries across the globe through a network of correspondent brokers and consultants.
