US-based insurance brokerage and risk management services firm Arthur J. Gallagher & Co (AJG) has acquired Minnesota-based James R. Weir Insurance Agency.

Established in 1967, Weir is a retail insurance broker that offers commercial property and casualty, risk management consulting, employee benefits and personal lines insurance services to the clients in the Midwest.

The agency is also specialized in insurance coverages for the religious, construction, healthcare and food service industries.

Under the leadership of Gallagher’s Midwest region retail property/casualty brokerage operations head, the agency’s Jay Weir, Michael Donohoe and their associates will continue to operate from their current location.

With operations in around 30 countries, AJG provides client-service capabilities in about 140 countries across the globe through a network of correspondent brokers and consultants.
