US-based insurance brokerage and risk management services firm Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (AJG) has purchased Connecticut-based Everett James, for an undisclosed sum.

Everett James was founded in 1990 and offers employee benefits consulting and brokerage services primarily for their large and middle-market clients in the Northeast.

The company specializes in group health and welfare consulting for both private and public entity organizations. It broadly focuses on planning, design, implementation, cost containment and plan administration services.

As part of the transaction, Robert McDonald, Steve Rinaldi and their associates will continue to operate in their current location.

They will report to David Ziegler, head of Gallagher Eastern employee benefit consulting and brokerage operations.

Most recently, Aurthur acquired Denman Consulting Services in Denver, Colorado, which offers employee benefit brokerage and consulting services for their clients throughout the western US. It also acquired a full service travel insurance agency Trip Mate.
