Arthur J. Gallagher & Co has acquired Texas-based Wischmeyer Benefit Partners (WBP) for an undisclosed amount.

Commenting on the acquisition, chairman president and CEO Patrick Gallagher, Jr said the company will continue to look for acquisition partners that will help in expanding its client capabilities and will be a good fit within its sales and service culture.

"For over 24 years, WBP’s top priority has been their clients, and they have developed a team-based culture that focuses on quality service and solid relationships. They will be a great complement to our employee benefits operation, and we are pleased to welcome Mark and his team to our growing Gallagher family of professionals," Gallagher added.

Under the direction of Gallagher’s employee benefit consulting and brokerage operations South Central Regional executive vice president John Neumaier, Mark Wischmeyer and his associates will continue to operate in their current location.

WBP, established in 1988, offers various employee benefit consultation and insurance brokerage services for their corporate, executive and individual clients throughout the southern US while specializing in group medical, dental, life, disability and long term care insurance programs.

Headquartered in Itasca, Illinois, Arthur is an international insurance brokerage and risk management services firm, with operations in 17 countries offering client-service capabilities in over 110 countries around the world through a network of correspondent brokers and consultants.
