Arig, a Bahrain-based professional reinsurance provider, is set to open a new representation in Tripoli, Libya, after receiving the license from the local authorities.

Arig will also service nearby countries in the Maghreb. The new office will be headed by Salah Al Mabrouk, a Libyan national who has been regular to the region for a number of years.

Arig CEO Yassir Albaharna said the company is going to Libya in recognition of current and historically close ties to the market and clients there.

“They have been tested and proven for 30 years and we intend to make our ties with the growing insurance industry even stronger. We believe we can still be better partners by moving to the doorstep of our clients,” Albaharna said.
