Argo Group International Holdings has appointed Michael Fleischer as the new chief underwriting officer for its excess and surplus (E&S) lines segment. He will be based in Argo's Atlanta office.
In his new role, Fleischer will work with E&S segment businesses Colony, Argo Pro and Argo Specialty, and will report to E&S president Lou Levinson.
Fleischer joins Argo Group following nine years with ACE. He most recently worked with ACE Westchester Specialty Group’s casualty division as chief underwriting officer and before this as VP of ACE Bermuda’s liability underwriting division.
Prior to joining ACE, Fleischer worked for Chubb Group of Insurance Companies in various underwriting management positions, and also held various underwriting and marketing positions for seven years at Crum and Forster Insurance Companies.
Levinson said that with around 30 years in the insurance industry, Mike brings both extensive underwriting experience as well as an in depth knowledge of the excess and surplus lines business.
